well i found a new hobby,, and on my way :)

Well I ran across this site after doing a search on overclockers when i wanted to see if such thing was possible.

I found this site, it was probably a bad thing becuase i have enough hobbies to spend my money on, and needless to say i dont have the money at this time in my life maybe if i ever get all my school loans paid off

So,, i been reading around here for a few days and thought i would finally sign up.

I have made some progress already. Today i got my mp3 puter running and playing. Just a real basic setup at first to see how it worked.

I am running a pentium 166 and i am using an inverter and just playing with a tape adapter to get my sound.
Sounded pretty good, i dont have an aux,, so i might go for the fm modulater.

see you all around i am sure
I got winamp to boot up automatically and all is well.

The only thing i dont know about is that i only have sound coming out of one side of my car? not sure why?

but my future plans are to get an lcd and gps.

well nice place you got here... i just dont think there are enough hours in the day to visit my various bulletin boards

one reason you are getting sound out of only one side of the car might be that either your tape adapter or your tape deck is screwy, or maybe your soundcard only has one channel

do you get all channels when playing tapes? you may want to check it.

Although, if you don't ever play tapes (i dont think i even have any) I guess it wouldnt matter.

Oh yeah, if you are going to get a modulator, DO NOT GET A SOUNDFEEDER-TYPE! They arent worth whatever they cost--even if you get one for free. Soundfeeder-types are the ones that _do not_ connect to your radio via the antenna wire. They just broadcast a low power FM signal in the cab of your vehicle.
