    Re: United Kingdom mp3car team?

seems sensible as mp3car is becoming overcrowded and bloated...
haha thats funny this forum population is quite small i would say, but its still good to do, so ppl can find other ppl near them that share same interests. so good on you.

Not being funny... Well OK I am, but the logo in the top left corner
looks like it says 'MP3CAR UH'
It all looks a bit complicated to me

1st attempt went OK, but was too slow. Next version is all onboard, will use push buttons on the com ports, got a 200MHz 6x86, 128MB RAM, Winamp. Sproggy 2.6 kit in progress. 12GB Laptop HDD. No case yet!

I'd be grateful for any help ...

I host the site myself so webspace/bandwidth is no issue
I can help, with bits and pieces?

What are you going to code the scripts in?

Have a look at Postnuke. It works best on a Linux server, but I have it working adequatly on a Win2k box, uses Apache/Mysql/PHP. Works very well, you can see my site using it at Bouncing-czechs.com . If it appears a bit slow sometimes, it's because it's hosted on an Old Pentium Pro 200, that also acts as my Network router/mail server/database, on the end of my (512k) ADSL line. All works pretty well.

Post Nuke is sweeeet - i have been playing with it for a while now. I think it's about time that the whole of mp3car moved over to a system like that, perhaps finding a way to intergrate the vbulletin board into the system?

Anyone know how much it costs to get a vbulletin license - im guessing its damn expensive but it does seem one of the better and more popular of boards.

    Cheers

There are Postnuke plugins for a few Bulletin boards, so even if you can't get Vbulletin to work, I'm sure some fo the others would.

    Or just write a plugin/module.
