    Burned - Canada Customs

This is just a warning to other Canadians out there.

I ordered my Lilliput Transflective screen today (which I am very excited about), however, I got burned with a $78.00 custom's import fee by Canadian Customs.
So, if you are ordering from mp3Car.com, just be warned of duty fees... you're $700 CDN screen now costs about $800 CDN.

HOWEVER, I must say that the product is 100% and packaging was superb. If I lived in the states, I'd be a regular. Also, shipping was extremely fast.

So, would I do it again, well, next time, instead of being impatient, I'd probably ship the item to a friend states-side. And although mp3Car.com I think is a great seller, 14% tax on my screen plus "handling charge" was not in my budget, so probably wouldn't do it again.

we get screwed in the UK too, such is life

    we get (((goods+shipping)+4%)+17.5%)+handling (about $35/£20)

so a $200 item can cost us $257 (about)

If (goods+shipping) is < $30 they dont bother, so tings need to be broken down or mis-represented.......

I suppose breaking things down into parts is one way to get items they wont otherwise allow us to buy for our personnel protection.........

If its shipped UPS, $40 of that was their brokerage fees.
Always pick Fedex. Their charge is around $3.
Nothing you can do about the actual duties charge, but its basically paying the tax you would pay if you bought it here. (14% in Ontario).

haha u guys thought you got screwed. listen to my story. i bought a dell laptop on ebay. i told the buyer to send it usps (There is no brokerage fee with usps) yet she did not and sent it UPS. Once the package arrived at my door the charge for the duty was over 200$. 1/5th of the cost of the freggin laptop. i couldve bought the laptop new from dell!
