Funny, I couldn't find a busted double din on ebay. I paid around $30 for my busted one shipped though. Not too bad.

Mine was 30 total on ebay. 15 for the unit, 15 for shipping. The thing actually works, I felt a little bad hacking it but I gave the faceplate-less unit to a student.

Anyway, as promised, here are more pics of my faceplate:

    Closer view of the DL065A:

I'm going to find some kind of fabric to cover the head unit brackets and the white plastic on top of the HVAC.

Some days, I wish I went with a 7", refactoring the hvac is taking forever (more because of time than anything).

One caution. My original fake faceplate used hotglue for the knobs. A nice summer day and the knobs were at the bottom of the faceplate.

Seeing our dashes are identical, probably a good chance once the summer comes it will get hot enough to melt, if it does, I'd be worried about it getting on the screen.

I didn't use stock, I used nasioc classifieds and found a broken one. It costed me only about $15 I think. I am quite often on nasioc, just last week was in Arizona for work, and didn't have time or desire to spend it on the computer you know. Just worked, travelled around, went to Mexico border. Good time.

How have you been? What's new?

Cool! Glad this thread helps some people, post pics of it when you're done! And I, too, couldn't find anything on ebay at the time.

Done. Came out nice. Ended up doing parts over using black silicone. Had a little extra challenge with having to make it 3 DIN though, but still managed to get it thin enough.

I'll post some more pics of it in progress and thoughts later on.
