while i was searching for an answer last night on the web, i found an update for my pci cards driver. it remedied the problem. The card is a generic one off ebay with an ali chipset.
Ive got a strange problem. I have an hp vecta, with an old v 1.1 usb port (2) on the mother board. I went ahead and picked up a usb 2.0 pci card with 5 connections so that i can run all the junk that i need for my car pc, mainly the dvd drive though for video playback. When i plug this drive into the usb 2.0 slots though, it doesnt recognize the drive at all. It recognizes everything else though (that ive tried anyway, bluetooth reciever, gps reciever, touch screen control, flash drive) But when i plug the drive into the old 1.1 it sees it as a dvd drive and lists it under my computer. I really need this thing to work the 2.0 ports so that i can use all my usb stuff without the dvd drive hogging all the bandwidth. not to mention i dont even think it will play movies back on a 1.1 port. any ideas on whats going on?
