why would you need an HU and a CARPC?
You can get an FM receiver, cdplayer for the PC, which takes care of all the HU features.
I am trying to decide what to do. I have the stock crapo bose system and want to replace it for sure. I had a carpc in my last car (03 tiburon). Had some problems but reliable most of the time except for crappy windows. But i think a reinstall will fix most of that. So do I go for a navi hu like the pioneer 6800dvd and no carpc or just carpc and a reg hu. Or i was thinking i could get teh 6800 without the navi addon and do the carpc for navi and internet and all that.
Any ideas to help me deicde. I want to be reliable for sure. I hated it in my old car when the carpc died i was out of a stereo.
I like the 6800 as long as you can controll the navi with the touchscreen. ( I am not sure, if someone knows let me know) If i did the carpc wouldn' get the navi addon but at least i can later on if i decide. Whatever i do I want to beable to put thigns back to stock if need be and don't want to mod the interior too much. And be reliable, its fustrating when the carpc would act up.
Thanks
Btw i have a 350z and there is room for the hu and the carpc lcd.

Depends on what you want and what you use everything for. I listen to a LOT of AM talk radio, and I live in the Northeast so winters aren't the best for HDs. So I'm going with a separate HU so that I can have music/radio without waiting for the PC to warm up enough to boot right away. But if your needs are different, just go with a straight carpc.
Well i listen to sirius mostly. With a hu if and when the computer dies or has issues the hu will still work and i will have something.
I would keep the head unit, the only respectable solution for FM (in a car PC) is that HQTC module and it's NOT user friendly. IMO.
i was just looking for suggestions. To to make my decision.
