I haven't read this thread fully, but reading between the lines, would something like this not suit http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...162#post985162

It can easily and already has been set-up for RR.

    Just a thought.

Completely different functionality. The velleman is mostly for digital input/output board. Meaning its great for getting steering wheel controls working, and other oem buttons working in road runner. Or possibly making a simple volume knob. But since it only has two analog outputs its terrible for a multi relay control board.

The LED-WIZ is basically a glorified relay board. With some animation features to boot.

I've yet to find a usb-relay controller that supports as many outputs. So far LED-Wiz.

Ordered one today. Will review once it arrives.

Update for above. Seems the Velleman can be used for powering LEDS and relays off the digital output
Problem is only 8 real outputs and a max of 100mA power. LED-Wiz still wins

Another choice is the Phidget Interface 8/8/8
But again not enough outputs and double the price.

The Phidget 0/16/16 would work too. You gain 16 inputs but lose 16 outputs. And its double the price again...

The LED-Wiz does look pretty nice. I spent more than that just to have my PCBs fabbed. I wonder what the rate is for communicating with it. Probably somewhat slow hence built-in PWM. I'd pick one up for the hell of it if they had some details on actually driving it as opposed to an activex control.

Though if you were to push 500ma per channel threw them all at once, I bet it gets hot as hell.

Can you post a link to your review in here once you get it? I'm very interested in this board.
