I may just sell the caddy steering wheel and airbag and have the stock wheel converted to wood. It runs about $450-$525 depending on if I want the thickness increased. I haven't decided yet.

I also did a mock up up the stock wheel in wood. It's not the same exact wheel, but close.

I paid about $180 for it on ebay. Came off an early model like 01 or 02 escalade so it's a gray/tan color. I think Cad switched to this wheel mid way from 01 to 02. A little off colorwise from my car, but I think it can be stained darker gray to match my interior. I'm just sitting on it right now as I put this project on hold until I get the amp and sub enclosure stuff done. Assuming I still go with the wood theme (I hope so) then I'll decide what I plan to do with the steering wheel.

If you think staining it to change the color won't take then I'll let you have it for $150. The wood is super nice looking in the sun. I probably won't even need it for a few months anyway. You want it?

I can take some pics if you want.

I figure that if I want to use a wheel like this I would be better off just buying a new one in the right color leather and wood that I want for about $260. Then buy the buttons for about $40 and then get the back cover and horn parts for $? at the local junkyard. Cost's more, but probably worth it to make sure everything is just right color wise.

That's it on my car. I changed the color slightly with photoshop to make it grayer.

I'll snap some pics so you can see.

Here you go. It's raining outside so the light inside isn't very bright.

I think the wood is called Walnut.
