I think just taking the lid off the current cubby would look a little weird even with fab work. My plan is to buy the actual nav cubby for the 06/07. Unfortunately its $400 just for the bracket.

Do you have a part number for that? I am in the UK and trying to get my dealer to order one of these is proving difficult.

I am looking at installing the car pc into my new 07 Z very soon, unfortunately before I can do that I need to replace the sub\amp and speakers due to the UK spec HU not having an aux in at the back of the stereo

(we don't even have mp3 capability in it).

06 350Z using 03 Nav Pocket:

Pretty easy. Just have to do a little bit of cutting and get the 03 Nav Pocket as flush as possible to the 06 Center Panel.

Of course, doesn't look as good as 06/07 OEM Nav w/ buttons, but much cheaper to do.

Do you have the Bose HU? If yes, you can get a adapter with aux inputs. I am using a Pac AAI-NIS2.

I've got an 07, and what am I looking at as far as difficulty mounting my own screen in that little cubby? I don't have the nav, and I don't care about keeping the lid.

Unfortunately European Bose stereos don't have the ability to use the PAC AAI NIS2

we don't have the socket for it to plug into (we don't even have the ability to play MP3 out of our HU's

)

I couldn't afford getting a touch screen or buying other stuff, so i just bought a cheapo innovatek single dash flip out screen, lol. it works for what i do.
