The dirty deed has been done...

WELL, (Big sigh) the dirty deed has been done.

The "Rotary MP3" system has been pulled and the '86 RX-7 has been traded in, along with a large sum of money, for my new(er) car.

The new beast would be a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. 240 HP., 280 Torque, Supercharged 3.8 V6.

Pictures will be up soon of just the car along with a new link for the new website. (domain to be determined) I WILL be moving the Carputer to the new car with a few changes.

Rotarymp3.com , obviously, will NOT be updated from here on out and the domain will most likely expire without a renewal.

Thanks for all the visits and comments and support!!! See you all at the new site soon...if any of you care.

That's some radical change in engine theory!!

Good luck with the new ride.

mp3car system is currently FUBAR and finances do not allow for a correction of that situation

That's pretty radical for someone who previously had that suggestive quote referring to rotary engines before

First and formost: I still Love rotarys.

Main Reason: I'm 29, Married and have 4 children. Owning a two seater with 194,000 miles needing a rebuilt trans, smelling like gas everytime you got in the thing wasn't really desirable anymore.

I do own a mini van, which my wife drives, but if I needed to pick up two of my children, it wasn't going to happen in the 7.

I still wanted something with power, a warranty, low miles, and that didn't cost an arm and leg.

I'm fully covered for the length of the loan and then some.

If I could afford and RX-8 when they come out, esspecially now sence Mazda is doing a Turbo package for it, I would plunk down whatever the money was.

So, the car has changed but the love is still with the rotary...

Hm, that's too bad. One reason why I will never have a wife nor kids. Well, maybe a wife. But the minute she even suggested I get rid of the RX-7(s) she'd be looking for a new husband.

FWIW, good used NA transmissions are pretty cheap, much more so than a rebuild. The gas smell is probably due to a leaking puslation damper, which the new owner should be made aware of. Otherwise, there WILL be an engine fire.

To clear a few things up...

I was never told to get rid of the 7 it was my choice. I love the car but not that much...

The gas smell was from a header being installed and the CAT being removed. I'm sure I killed a tree everytime I started it.

One other thing. I don't know about where you live but if your summers are anything like the ones here in Tampa, FL., you probably wouldn't want to spend one with the A/C I had. It blew cold air, just not hard enough to get the car cold while the sun was up.

Again, yes I could fix, replace, or repair something but I was done beating a dead horse.

Anyway, I'm still young and I deffinately see another 2 seater in my future. Maybe when the two older boys go away to school the new 7s will be introduced.

I don't even have AC in my car, and for the last few months I have been driving around with the heater on since the turbo install has resulted in too much of heat load for the stock rad (replacement comming soon). So heat doesn't bother me. And contrary to popular belief, Canada gets hot in the summer.
