Combined remote / Qwerty keyboard Girder code.

ok after a few hrs of messingwith it i got it to say its there. but new question is the lil light on the grider software says its giving it a signal but notings happeing. does having a keyboard and mouse pluged in affecting it?

No it has nothing to do with the keyboard and mouse.

Are you using the On Digital receiver that came with the remote?
If so, have you powered it with 12V?

Is Girder configured to look at the com port you are using and is the baud rate setup to 9600?

Have you modified the D-Type connect that plugs into the PC the way I said in the PDF file I provided.

yellow to brown
brown to yellow
black to green, and
green to black

A helpfull app to check your serial/com ports connection. This was a key part helping me getting the receiver to work. It detects com port activity. With this you can manually open and close com ports thats not in use and watch port activity!

I try to modify the serial port , and it seem to work fine with Serial Watcher but girder DON'T work

In quoted image the first line is OK. In my Serial Watcher i haven't first line OK. When i open port no message recive, only when i try to use remote control. But the data recived seem to be ok (all remote control button send same date as described in girder configuration file). I do everything is write in pdf file , included girder configuration.

Help me please

OK.. Just got one of these remotes and the IR receiver that came with it. Now, I can't use a standard male to female serial gender changer because the pinouts are different correct??

I have 2 sega controllers but don't know which wires go to what and I can't fit my ohmeter in the holes to test which wires go to which pins..

Has anyone does this with a sega controller that can help me out??

Or is it better to just snip the ends off of something else to use.

Ok.. I was able to pinout all my wires (stuck a paper clip down the sega controller end) but when I tied them into the OnDigital receiver it didn't work. I have 6 wires instead of the 5 that the PDF that was posted. I think thats my problem..

Just bought one, looks pretty handy, do you have to type at an angle so the IR lines up with the receiver?

If someone could help me out... My receiver came with 6 wires (the guide created only had 5 wires). I tied my 5 wires per the guide to the correct pins and I get nothing. I'm guessing because I have a 6 wire receiver that the pinouts will be different. How do I go about telling which wires go to which pins??
