Some apparently require power. Have you tried powering it?

I have tried it with power and without. I'm not sure it needs it because when I plug it into my serial port with serialwatcher running I get a "0". Then when I plug the power in I get another "0".

    Thanks

I just thought of something... How do you count the pins? In other words... Is pin one to the left of the 5 pins? Like this:

    1 2 3 4 5
    . . . . .
    6 7 8 9
    . . . .

Well I think I may have figured out my problem.. I just looked at a serial cable I have laying around at work and the pins are as follows:

    5 4 3 2 1
    . . . . .
    9 8 7 6
    . . . .

    Will try it tonight!

OK.. Update.. I got the receiver and remote to communicate w/ girder. I had the wiring backwards as stated above. I modded mine with a sega controller that Fusion suggested.

I have full keyboard function but NONE of the buttons on the top of the remote (the TV style buttons) work and I don't have the mouse control via the four arrows on the qwerty part. Any ideas of why this is? I know it was said that the tv style buttons need another receiver but I read that someone had most of the buttons working w/out one.

Any help would be great (especially for the mouse part).

    Thanks!

EDIT - Oh yea.. And I didn't need to power it..
