Same here, i've been using this remote keyboard for about couple of month now.
I am using IRman for the second receiver to control the other button (volume, mute, etc). Great remote..

bring it back from the dead

ok i got one but it did nothave a power source. i went to radio shack and all they had was was a lighter type. i can put in a .5a fuse. would it be the same? also im afraid that when in car it can fry it because as we all know car voltage is not clean. can i take 12 from my opus and use that by runing a fuse thru it? and what are the other mods i would have to do just swaped these pins?

Try it first without a power supply. Some of ours worked without the external power.

Not sure what you mean by activate itself. It won't show up in any hardware list or device manager. You have to use girder and set it to the proper settings to listen to the receiver.

I can't find any... maybe I'm searching for the wrong thing. I've tried "on remote control", "on remote keyboard", "qwerty remote", etc.
