Low Bitrate
Okay...thanks a lot guys. Both seem amazing from what you all have described. Price is now the deciding factor. I think i'm gonna go with the HOLUX as it is 72 cnd. as opposed to 78 cnd. nothing major, but every penny counts. I like the idea of the magnet. Of course e-bay might have it cheaper

Looks like the bu-353 has an internal battery so you won't have cold starts as often. Doesn't seem to be my case, it still takes 1min to locate satellites.
My IG4 does not jump around as much when I place the puck on the dash, vs passenger floorboard.

Variable Bitrate
I just got the Holux GR-213 a few days ago and can't even use it.
Their website has been down for days.

Does the BU-353 actually have a battery inside it? The only thing I see in the specs is:
5. Built-in SuperCap to reserve system data for rapid satellite acquisition
which I presume to be a capacitor... For you folks with BU-353, have any of you opened it up and know for sure that there's a battery inside it..? I'm debating between the BU-353 and the Holux right now since my old gps is taking forever to get satellite lock and needs to be replaced.

If you have a mac, stay away from the Holux. i had to return mine as it would not work at all. I'm now waiting for the BU-353
