Im buy GlobalSat ET-332 but Im not test it yet...
Well... I was going to get an ET301 from sparkfun, however, they've been out of stock for awhile. So I have started to explore other options. Does anyone have any reasonable suggestions?
Some I've seen...

Anyone have any experience with these or other OEM GPS units?
I've been in contact with customer service at sparkfun and they are replacing the et-301 with the et-312 reciever late this nov thru dec on a new eval board as well. Here's the info on the replacement chip-

I think it will be worth the wait as a oem gps..
PS. there's a thread on et-301 already here with some user's.
Ah... cool. Thanks for the info.
I found out about the ET301 from the other thread...
-UPDATE
For those interested.. Sparkfun electronics ran into some unexpected hurdles with the new pcb boards for the et-312 gps chip, and they should be ready in about 2-3 weeks.
Customer service has assured me it should be ready by the 1st -or- 2nd week in January 2008 for purchase.

How the heck do you use that? I didn't see any connectors on it really. Do you have to solder wires to it or something? (Not that I mind soldering, but the smaller stuff I find frustrating as my soldering iron sucks and my skills are poor.). I did fix my broken lilliput tuochsreen by soldering around the connector, that was a difficult enough job for me.
I would say the best way would be to get one of their evaluation or as some call them demo boards. They have some already setup with another receiver or you can get them with out one and solder it your self. I am sure they will have some with the ET312 already to go after they release it.
Thanks. I was totally confused. I thought that was the whole thing you just hooked the cable to an antenna and to the chip, then somehow to the serial port on a computer or something. So that is just the brains and lacks the communications it goes on something like this?
Darn I thought these OEM modules would be only a bit more expensive than a regular GPS mouse.
Yep thats it or This. You can also do a search on ebay for gps demo and find some ready to go.
