    Question GPS question

    I'm thinking about buying this GPS from ebay

    Would this work with co-pilot without any modification? Or any better GPS suggestions? I searched this for GPS and and people say Garmin 35 is best but it's sort of expensive to me. How is this ebey GPS?

    If you look on there site it says that it only works with Door to Door and not CoPilot. You have to have a Rockwell/Conextant chipset to work with CoPilot. Rockwell spun off the Semiconductor division and that is why it is called Conextant now. If you look for the NavMan GPS it should work.

    really? thanks for info. well then does garmin 35 work with copilot?

    I checked this one out before. If you go to there site and not the auction, it does not say that it works with CoPilot. You might want to e-mail them.

    Thats exactly the GPS i have ! ( looks like !)
    I had it as USB -version - didn't work on my carpc - only on laptop and my homepc Then the seller changed it in a serial one - now it worx - somtimes good sometimes bad - but could be the software i use that is buggy- ( Travelbook from MAp and Guide - europe) Hardware minimum for soft is PIII 500 - and I have an K6-2 500 - So the problem is that sometimes it shows - no signal- i'll test it next days But seems to be a standart good gps !

    the output sentences of this gps can be changed with a tool to work with distefora software.

    I paid it 100€ incuding shipping

    I works under my cars backwindows glass and has also a magnet to fix it on the roof - ( don't know if it's made for 160km/h and rain so i prefer keeping it inside -

    Is 95% humidity = rain ?

    I can't decide my mind. I found the garmin 35 GPS for $159(w/o shipping) which is best price I found for so far.

    but it's still amost twice expecvice than this ebay GPS. Well I checked this GPS spec with garmin35 spec . well garmin 35 is little better on few tihings(such as altitude and more choice of baud rate) but nothing big. they both tacks upto 12 satellites and same velocity . Garmin 35 is litttle more accurate but this ebay one is ok too.

    well... What should I do? I just want to make sure if it works with copilot 2002. I could always return but what a hassel and return cost and stuff..

    OK so .. I have to go with Garmin 35
    hmm I just want to make sure one thing before I order.

    well about few months ago I ordered the co-pilot 2002 and tried it with my friend's garmin 35 (USB) model . The Odd thing is when the sofeware(copilot) is first installed It didn't work with a garmin 35 (USB) But after connect copilot GPS and change back to garmin 35-USB , it worked. I though it's either a driver problem or a USB problem. (I returned it after this) So I'm thinking about ordering garmin 35 - serial model.

    Does anyone know if this garmin35 -serial one work with copilot 2002 without any modification?
