Let me put it this way... go read the iGO thread on digital-car.co.uk, then come back and try to tell me that again.

I've been working on this app for almost 2 years. embedding in CF is easy, but has drawbacks depending on which resizer you use. iGOMySize is the most flexible one, but has issues with poi searches and long button presses. I'm currently working on another skin to run in CF at native resolution (in my case 1024x768) without the use of any resizer.

i did go there and i did read there, that is where i got the information i got so far and the link that i posted, however their thread is 180+ pages and very unorganized, if its a quick solution or some simple script, i would really apreciate if somebody who has done it can take a few minutes of their time and post it here.

Ok, I'll put this simply then.... I am the same Spawn from Digital-Car. Save the attitude if you want any help.

Again, embedding in CF is as easy as any embedding any other external application. Give CF the application location and the window name and there it is. You do not need the helper apps, as they were essentially written to solve the loss of focus issue that I fixed long ago.

In order to embed it you have a few options. First thing to understand is that, unlike sygic, iGO DOES NOT LIKE TO BE RESIZED. It's a general pain in the arse.

1.) if you are running at 800*600, you can embed igo straight in without any resizers as long as the application window you use is 800*480. If not it will either not fill the screen on fullscreen or be cut off at the bottom when not in fullscreen. Find my 800*430 version as it fits the best in CF with a few simple mods to the app screen in CF, there are links in the iGO files thread on digital-car.

2.) Find one of the 2 resizers, igoMySize (http://code.google.com/p/igo-mysize/) or iGOzoomer. iGOMysize is limited to a single resolution to make it fit front ends like RR that do not have dynamic app screens. iGOzoomer allows for active resizing, but poi searches do not work and holding button presses sometime lock as pressed so you have to close and restart.

    it isn't attitude, its a question my friend, only that i had to post it 3 times to get a good answer (;

thanks for the post. i did follow the steps, however here's the problem i run into.
every time i try to launch IGO from CF it defaults to the top left corner of my screen, after clicking here and there in CF i can get it to fit into the CF windows, but it is very buggy and not practical for everydayy use. i might be doing something wrong. or not, i am testing this on my desktop with 1280x720 res. could that be the reason why it doesnt fit like it should ?

I assume that you aren't running CF at fullscreen. A couple of questions first. What res is CF set to, are you using the resizers or running iGO native, and have you confirmed that the window title is correct in CF?

yes i was not running CF at fullscreen, i just tried fullscreen and result is the same. CF is set to 800x600, i am using a resizer - IGO-mysize, the window title is "Igo Nav". however from what i can see, CF at fullscreen resizes to the resolution of the monitor, 1280x720, so when i try to launch Igo, it appears as a little windows on the top left corner.

The version posted by sergatiuk does seem cleaner(art), has more options, and seems to run a bit better han other versions I have at the moment.

I've been using the "1.6.1" version for about 2 months. It is a port of the dimka skin for the PDA/PNA versions, and while it is "cleaner" in appearance compared to the standard version, it is still just a skin, albeit one that I would recommend. It needs work, which is what I have been doing for my own purposes of late.

now back the cf embedding issue. if using igomysize, open it unembedded in windows using the mysize exe. the app title in CF can be whatever you want. but the window title MUST be the same the on in windows.

Unless you are using an old version of CF, in which case I would say update to the current version. I know that iGO will not embed properly in some previous versions of CF.

i use version 2.0.8xx of CF, you were right about the windows name i had it wrong, i changed it to the correct one, which in my case is "iGO8" and it worked once and was still buggy.
every other time i tried to launch it i experienced the same problem as i mentioned in the previous post. any ideas ?

Sorry I'm using the current 2.1.1331 version of CF. My best suggestion is to update to that version of CF.

    And can you define "buggy"?
