does the gps have voice input? if so do you have to push a button for the program to begin listening?
I thought SuperMatty was funny. He was only being sarcastic. ddt, I think if given a choice most members on this board would want their monitor molded into their dash instead of mounted on a stand or an arm. Problem is not all members on this board know how to do that. Removeable screen mold into the dash not impossible but takes a lot longer. being able to returning the dash back to original is always a good idea.
dmbrown73, I have SA2003 and Xenarc WVGA. I set the task bar to the left side. This gives me about 660-640X480 to work with. You can adjust the bottom menus upwards. The only thing it'll cut out is the long and lat reading on the right. If you have a standard VGA screen, you can set the task bar to auto hide. that way you have true 640X480 to work with. As for changing the voice on the SA2003, goto the voice tab on the bottom menu. There's a list of speaker's names. If you have copilot installed in the system, you can even change the speaker to the copilot robot speaker. I found that Mary has the most natural voice of the rest of the speaker. I want to get the AT&T's natural voice speech engine but I cant find trials anywhere. Here are additional speech engines. I think if you install it, SA2003 should be able to change the speech engine to the new ones.

I wish that shrinkwrapped software that does street level navigation was actually available in Australia - I'd be happy to have an Elmer Fudd voice even!

Simply change the voice files to .wav's and you can change them. A few voiceskins can be downloaded at http://www.voiceskins.com

Holy Wake from the dead, Batman!!!!
Note the year this was started. I have Ver. 9 of CoPilot now and yes you can change the voices but they do not do read text they are predetermined sayings. I wish i could load my ATT voice. Now that would be bad ***.![]()
I knew there was a reason I still use delorme (it's not for their wonderfully 'accurate' map data.) I use AT&T voices with it, and they are wonderful. I was thinking about trying copilot, but if it only uses pre-recorded voice blurbs instead of tts, then it won't tell me street names, and is useless.Originally Posted by Defiler
Hold on...Don't take what I said the wrong way. There are two, very robot like, voices (male and female) that do read street names but the other voices (Themes?) are prerecorded and can not read street names.Originally Posted by smkaplan
