specifically talking about this software. You need the client running on some computer with internet access.
You could write your own app to send the server a message. Its not hard and I could give you the message string. I am in the process of getting a gps tracker phone to connect for my father so its all feasable.

Hey bud, I was thinking why couldnt we have it setup to use AIM? I can send texts all day for free from the aim application right to my phone! And we could have it send street addresses of the vehicle? or just gps quardenents that i could paste into the iphone maps? What would be amazing if it could be sent directly into my maps program on my iphone!! Man I wish i could program

can't you do the same with Skype?

Doesnt skype cost money to use? Aim is a totally free, and is a much smaller program and it works pretty much instantly...

To add or expound on his post, the use of AIM is that it is free to use, which I like that idea and can used on most smart phones.

Also, what about using a soft phone like Google Talk or Voice etc.

....just some thoughts/options....

I try to use Gpstracker as client but i can't.
My config is :
pc connected to internet true a freebox
RR 1-5-2011
last skype 5.0
gpstracker 3.0
I have modified my gpstracker.ini file but when i launch the client on my pc i have an error !

I would need to know what the error was to be able to help. post the error or your debug log

Well I just got a new phone and am starting to learn android programing with the view to tracking me and the car.

I also messed about with the geofences to make them more usuable but been stuck on the phone app trying to make it win7 compatible so haven't released anything yet

Does that mean your using it? Nobody ever says when they are, just when the don't get it working be nice to have a quick reveiw of good an bad points if you have the time
