I like some features about theEarthmate. Bluetooth upgradable with a power pack. But, I dont like the yellow color. The Rayming TN-200 is black, and has a magnetic mount, also look a bit more streamlines, and is waterproof, so Im hoping I can just place it ontop of the car.

About the accuray. I searched for that 2-5 you mentioned, maybe it is only in the Whats New section, but this is from an email they sent out to existing customers

"Typical GPS positional accuracy averages 15 meters.

WAAS-corrected GPS signals can provide accuracy of
less than 3 meters 95% of the time!"

The Rayming is also WAAS. So, if typical is 15 meters, it sounds like the Rayming and Earthmate are going to perform the same with WAAS.

The Trip Nav TN-200 looks like almost the same device as the Earthmate, but in a different case. The specs are nearly identical in many aspects, but the accuracy rating of the TN-200 appears to be 10-15 meters.

Compared to the other GPS receiver I was considering ( Royaltek ), which has a 5-25 meter accuracy, this 2-5 meter rating looks incredible!!

Makes me wonder why the only place Delorme seems to publish this 2-5 meter spec is on the "What's New" page. I would think this would be boldly placed on the general information page.

a can of black spray paint would fix the color

I would be afraid something would happen to it if it was outside my car also......and the earthmate is $15 cheaper

I finally got my screen back and installed the gps as well. Like you guys said its bright yellow and says GPS.....My friend happened to have some black spray paint so we took it apart and sprayed the yellow cover. It came out nice and blends in more now. You can still see the light blinking even though it got sprayed over.

It locks pretty quick(under 30 secs). Accuracy is top notch so far in the areas ive been. I totally love it!

I just got mine. It's really tiny.

The only thing is that the usb-serial drivers are not getting installed so that it can't be used with other software (Streets & trips, for example).

Anybody know how to get around this?

There was an option when installing that asked if you wanted to install the usb-serial drivers. Not sure if you checked this and it still did not install them.

Yes, unfortunately I did install them, but the COM device does not show up in hardware, which precludes installing the HID files by hand, which is their suggestion.

This is complicated by the fact that I'm running W2K in an emulation environment (VirtualPC) which emulates the hardware of a PC in my Powerbook G4.

So it could be related to this. I hope that Delorme is a little better at answering questions than travroute (co-pilot) as they were useless.

    Rayming Bluetooth Pairing

Not sure if I should have started another post entirely but this was the closest thread that my search uncovered.

I have the Rayming Bluetooth GPS and can't get it to pair automatically. I don't have the instructions so can't check those. And there is nothing on the web that I can find. Can anyone help me with this?
