i hope u don't take this offensively but...
i think now would be the best time to make the app open sourced if you want too
so that way maybe others could work on it while your moving and house hunting?
    just my 2 cents
i love the potential of the app so far though!!

Just a quick update. I have finished the move. I am working on getting settled, but should be able to start developing this further in the next few weeks.

Priority 0: Get my car pc finished and installed so I can test this in its intended environment.
Priority 1: Clean up the code.
    Priority 2: Implement rotating map.
    Priority 3: Implement turn-by-turn directions.

Has anyone even tried this in a car yet?

ive tried this on my pc,,,,
the search seems to be a bit messed up , it cant seem to find any cities or countries like the normal google maps on my browser, it just finds POIs near the car??

also since i dont live in the US and your app seems like the only way of using in car navigation, can u tell me what type of hardware will be required to be attached to the PC so that your app can know the location

if you type in an address rather than business name or POI, it should come up.

The app should work with any GPS receiver... you just have to use xport and have the filter enabled.

Are you using the static maps api? How did you get around not getting blocked? I have written a C# version of this program but I am not getting 403 Forbidden errors, Its against googles terms to provide automated data like this.

    Nice work, keep at it.

I did something a little similar for Centrafuse3. mainly to show live traffic.

Also tied it to search for driving directions.

Plenty of room for growth in this area I think.
