    You may not:
    8.1. access or use the Service or any Content through any technology or means other than those provided in the Service, or through other explicitly authorized means Google may designate;

    theres also a few places that say if Google doesn't approve of your use then it can terminate you usage without notice.

    Streetdeck 2 uses Google map's cache data for the maps

    No it doesn't! It uses a custom navigation engine built off of the decarta sdk and uses navteq data. The only google map data is the satellite images that are overlaid.

    yeah in regards to the cache i meant the satellite imagery,i wasn't too clear on the previous post

    but that being the case, it shouldn't go against Google's TOS, making the realistic maps outside of Google/Android/etc potentially acceptable, right ?

    Satellite imagery is acceptable because the terms of use are different then map or street view data. Satellite images without routing data are useless though (aka it still requires full nav software, and that software needs to support satellite overlays).
