Joe dm hi mate my post wasnt directed at you, i was just trying to defend myself.I guess the only use for google is PIRATED software.!!!There are five driving adults in my family,My son has a late model tomtom with 2009 maps,my wife and daughter share a generic gps with destinator with 2008 maps,I am about to get hopefully next couple of weeks a garmin 1309 with 2010 maps,i know a guy who works with me has a chinese all in one with 1go 8.3*** that also has 2008 maps and has been told the update is available shortly.I OWN garmin pc,oziexplorer,oziexplorer ce. I use garmin pc with city navigator 2009 and off road maps on my laptop and RESENT the accusation of condoning software piracy.So basically everyone here, who suggests looking on google is actually saying go pirate,! what the hell have i done on this site to warrant that???

It was the gossip smiley that gave me that impression. I was probably a little short with my reply. If you have bought your software, that's great, but the amount of posts that I see with a nudge nudge wink wink is quite large. I have seen quite a number of programs and skin become defunct because they have been pirated or hacked. Sometimes the interpretation of a post is not taken the same way it is intended. If I took your post the wrong way I appologise. I did give you the benifit of the doubt in your post, otherwise I would have given you an infraction.

My statment was harsh, but what I will not appologise for is enforcing the rules. They are a condition of using this forum. End of story.

Yeah the google links are for GPS units to mount in your car... Basically all of them have the latest maps up for purchase, however what I am looking for is a Software GPS to use with my car computer once I build it as I am in planning mode.

This will basically just be the same as wanting to run a GPS on a laptop using a usb gps reciever and it is laptop software that I am having trouble locating which supports the latest maps.

I see your point on this one and totally agree with you... It's people who pirate software that makes it so hard for people like me to get what they want... Is it any wonder why no big companies wanna make a PC version of their maps... Yeah because people just pirate it and send them out of business

however I really didn't see any indication of him hinting to obtain illegal software It was more him telling me that there is alot of information on google about it which he could find that I must have missed.

NOTE on the side... It would appear in my opinion from what I have found is that Garmin Mobile PC is not coming out in australia simply becasue the large australian map crashes the program for whatever reason and they have not been able to fix this :S

Navmii indicated in the CF forum that they will have a Australia version by the end of the year. I will wait for that.

Never heard of Navmii will look them up... Yeah by the end of they year is good and until then I can get by on the 2006 Destinator maps I have

Also looks like igo do have an australian map for 2008 which i have read on other forums however cannot find a link to it on their website (which is all about the iphone) or on google

Joe-DM HI again,you can actually download a trial from garmin,https://buy.garmin.com/shop/store/do...=139&pID=13484 i dont want to get in trouble again but Laptop gps world (which is a very reputable forum) has a lot of info and as i said before 2010 maps are available which can be uploaded to pc, i wont put links up but some reputable sites that deal with legit stuff are laptopgps world /gps australia / gps passion, and others, im sure you can find what info you are after.
