Wow, you have tried everything I used to try (except buying Garmin )to get it to work. Mine would work intermitently till I finally gave up and bought Garmin. I have never had a single issue with Garmin and the routing engine works much better too.
I'm having a lot of trouble getting my USB GPS to work in Centrafuse Auto. I've set the port to com5, baud 9600 (tried 4800 as well). I tried Centrafuse and set the port and baud in there as well as both NMEA and SIRF (neither way works). I still just get a red X on my car icon. Tried reloading the map as some posters have suggested. Also tried Xport. Xport sees the device and I tell it to share on com2 and check the box at the top to enable ports. The input port is green, but the output port is red. I guess it goes green when a GPS app connects to it? Using Xport, I set Centrafuse to com2 and the baud rate that Xport displays and NMEA, but still no love.

Yah, I'm very close to that right now. I guess Garmin integrates well with Centrafuse. Does it "feel" like it's part of the interface, or does it feel added on?

With NickMack's plugin from over at the Centerfuse forums, it looks perfect.
Garmin is light years ahead of Destinator. Just one example, I route my way from point 'A" to Point "B". Destinator maps out about 50 miles west then 50 miles north. After about 25 miles, I turn north on a back road. Destinator will keep trying to U turn we for the next 20 miles north to go back to the original route! Garmin will INSTANTLY reroute me in a logical fashion using the new road I am on.

Ok, sold. I almost never drive for more than 25 miles at any given time, so it sounds like it just wouldn't reroute me.

Took your advice, went with Garmin and NickMack's plugin. It was surprisingly easy to setup and works perfectly! Well almost perfectly. For some reason, when running from CF3.1 the spoken directions have a bit of a crackle to them that isn't there when I run it outside of CF. It pauses the music before and after speaking, which is great, but the crackle is a bit annoying. I'll play with the settings a bit and see if I can fix it.
