    A trick for mappoint:

You can use the latest database of
AUTOROUTE Europe 2003 with Mappoint 2002....

You'll have better map! (search on the internet for this trick)

For destinator is there a specific version of destinator or pocket PC version and laptop version are inclued in destinator II?

(like mapsonic wich can be used either with the laptop or a pocket PC)
Epia M9000, lili 7" vga&touch & 2xTM-7002S compo, camera with reversed image, 2.5" 60 GB, 256Mb DDR, Opus 90W, GPS usb... AND MEDIACRUISER of course!

Hi, I'm from Action Replay so can give a little bit of feedback on Navigator. It does look very much like a windows solution and the buttons are far too small for use when driving. However the search and postcode are excellent and then it's a couple of mouse clicks to put it into Nav mode. After that you don't need to touch it. If you go off-route it automatically recalculates the route for you. The spoke commands are clear and the on-screen display backs it up. I've looked at many options before deciding on Navigator. It is exceptional value for money, I'm selling the European version including GPS for 125. ake a look

    Destinator 2 without Touchscreen

Question for the people who have Destinator 2: -

Is it configurable to assign hotkeys to the buttons in the interface? I don't have touchscreen, and control my MP3 stuff with a numeric keypad. Obviously I'll have a qwerty keyboard for inputting destinations etc but want to be sure that I can control the whole app with relative ease from the keyboard (preferably single-key not shifted hotkeys etc).

    Cheers, Ginge.

I havnt seen a way to do this and I belive the function has been left out on purpse to stop you playing while driving.

I also thing the whole thing is designed to be used with a touch screen. If hot keys / short cuts are what you need then go with Navigator.

    Thanks

    <baby mode>Waaaaaaaa but I want 3D maps!</baby mode>

Looks like I'll have to add a touchscreen, but gonna be a while since it looks like I'll be made redundant fairly soon so no spare money for toys just now.

Incidentally how does this look on non VGA screens? Currently got MapPoint and with bigger text size on my 5.6" TFT and it's reasonably usable, can the text be made reasonable in Destinator?

Re Destinator.... Jamez has found out v3 is in the works...

"Hi having an issue with destinator 2, very happy with the product otherwise....
If i want to create a route from Dunstable to St Neots ( which are on different maps ) how can I select a destination street and address? If I change maps to the map with St Neots I can select a road and house, but it doesn't know where I am currently so won't create a proper route... How do I creat routes across different maps?
    Thanks
    James"

    They said
"Hello and thank you for your inquiry.

Currently, you must plan routes form two place within the same map as you are doing. Our next release will allow you to create user maps by selecting other maps of your choice. This will greatly benefit you in your current situation. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please visit www.destinator1.com for updates.

    Thank you.

    He said...

    "Hello again.

This will be released as version 3 as it will have many other upgraded and new features as well as new maps. As a registered user, you can recieve this new version for only $49.99 USD.

    Thank you."

I emailed them back and they said ...

    "Hello,

In response to your email, we have no information on when our next release will become available. We just know that it is scheduled to arrive close to the end of the year.

For now it is still on the drawing table.

    Thank you"

    Thanks

    Terran
