BU353 S4 Under GRP Panel?

Hi, does anyone have any experience of BU353 GPS units mounted under GRP panels? The design of my car's dash is such that I can't mount it on top without cutting a hole in it (which I really don't want to do), so the unit would have to sit underneath it. The plus side is that there's nothing above the GRP dash panel as my car has only a plastic aeroscreen and no roof, so other than the GRP panel, it's got nothing else in it's way to the sky.

What's the experience of the group at mounting these units under GRP mouldings?

As long as there is no metal above the receiver you will be fine, clear site line to the sky is all that's required. Signal can go through plastic,glass,wood,fiberglass,rubber ect. just no metal even heating wire's in rear window will cause problems. hope this helps SNO
