    Serial GPS

I have been trying to install Rand McNally street finder delux 2000 on a thinkpad for my friend to use when he drives to flordia. I got the software installed no problem, but the actual receiver wasn't so easy. Everytime I plug it into use windows reconizes it as a serial mouse and then the mouse goes crazy. I have tried to disable the "serial mouse" but the the gps doesn't work. I am using windows 2000, and the model of the reciever is 1225B-R1. If anyone has any ideas how to fix this I would appreciate it. Thanks
