Thanks for the heads up, I had tried Netstumbler first. I couldn't figure out how to make itself transparent though. That little compass one seems like it will do the trick. Thanks again![]()
Yeah, GPSGate is nice. It reads from the GPS itself so no need for another program, plus it shields the Earthmate from bad things like Routis.![]()
Otherwise, there's NetStumbler or this little Compass that hides away (The menu is on the tray icon).
EDIT: I went a little crazy with the compass and it now supports skins and transparency. heh

Everyone keeps posting about GpsGate. Perhaps I missed a post pointing out why it is so cool or better than some of the other comport redirectors we have been talking about. In other words, this one isn't free. What does it do that is special? Is it better at handling sleeping/hibernating or some other things that people were complaining about?Originally Posted by Jeep

Well, you don't need another app to keep it happy like mine and I don't really know if it hibernates because they never sent an email to me so I could download it. Plus, XPort has a couple bugs. I fixed one today that can freeze apps when you shut down, plus I added 1 more COM port because I keep using more GPS toys. It's updated at that link above.
Curiosity any update on XPort with hibernates?

No. And it's getting really frustrating. It wants to hybernate but just won't do it. Argh!
Comfoolery crashed my computer I ordered a serial y-splitter to split my GPS to two com ports and now we'll see. I would use XPort but I need to hibernate its just so much faster.

Well, it let my computer hibernate, so one up on xport, and it was still there in the tray on resume but it had turned red, so it didn't resume the connection with my USB GPS just like other programs.Originally Posted by stevieg
