No, not as long as you have enough CPU power. My Via Epia M1000 does both fine at the same time runnin XP Pro.
just wondering if there are any problems with running other software in the background (i.e. MP3 player) while using GPS software. does it affect the tracking ability in any sort of way?

Depends on what you play! On the way back to my house the other day "Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver" started and about the same time Destinator recalculated my route, 35 miles out of my way, taking in some very iffy single track 'green' roads and three farmyards!Originally Posted by skeurton

hah
It doesn't take that much cpu power to do that...and more...just be efficient, and turn off eye candy.
just push up the ram and you'll be fine.
Ive done media engine with the music running and running my copilot 2003 ontop of those two..no problem.
Edit: oh Im running 512 megs of 2100 on my Epia MII 10k
Mine needs to be updated.
Do you ever find that Copilot 2003 locks up when running it as an external application from MediaEngine?Originally Posted by samc
