Receiver won't lock!!

I have a USB GPS mouse that I got off ebay. It works great with my laptop but when I hook it up to my carputer it won't lock. I didn't move the receiver at all and I tried it in both systems and on the laptop the light started flashing (meaning it's locked) in like 30 sec. but then I tried with the carputer and I waited 10 minutes and still no lock. I've tried it without any drivers installed and with, both ways give the same results. As far as I know, it shouldn't matter if there are drivers installed, as long as it gets power it should lock right? What can I do, any ideas anyone?

Oh ya, I tried removing all other devices from the carputer just to make sure it's getting enough power and it didn't help. Also, all other USB devices that I have work fine on this system so it's not a problem with the USB ports or anything.

What software are you using? Maybe your software is not set up properly. Usually it has to search the ports to find the gps signal... If we knew what software you are using we could give specific help....

In the laptop I didn't even install drivers or open any software and the receiver locked (LED started flashing). This is not happening on the carputer. I think it is a problem with the mainboard or maybe BIOS settings...
