wow...that would be pretty neat! would also avoid having to look at a map and very low tech, but workable.
unforunately, I don't have the first clue how to do it.
OK... I'm wierd. I must be because I can't seem to find something that will work. I want to have a gps comunicate with just a small LCD in my dash board. Its a 20x4 matrix orbital. All I want it to do is just say something like
Turn LEFT onto
Montgomery St - 1.2mi
Turn RIGHT onto
2nd Av - 2.2mi
Route input would be done on my pc and then uploaded into the car prior to departure. Simple... that's it. I can code in VB so if anyone knows of nav software with the ability to support plugins that might work.

You can do that with the Mappoint ActiveX control and VB. I'm working on a gps interface with just text for speed, heading, position and routing.

Well the mappoint plugin sounds doable. But 1) it doesn't look like it does actual navigation. In other words it doesn't come up with routes to take! and 2) its MS so, that sounds expensive. Thanks for the input!
Yes, you can do routing with the Mappoint activeX. Yes it's expensive.Originally Posted by Adam432823
