speed cameras

sorry if this has already been posted guys
but i was wondering is it possible to make like a snooper sort of device to locate and warn u if speed cameras are about and how fast you should be going etc. etc.
ppl living in the uk will understand wot i mean there everywhere over here

Drive at or below the speed limit, wouldn't that be easier?

There is a speed camera database on the internet, I've suggested many times that someone should code a program using the GPS aerial and this database.

Imagine your car stopping the MP3 player and shouting "your coming up to a 30mph Gatso reduce speed by 10mph or face a fine."

Now if only I could code.....

No not in the uk it wouldn't. There even talking of fines for going over the limit by 1mph, rough or what.

Anyway its been shown that people with camera detectors make safer drivers!!! Why I've no idea.

The danger is watching for camera and not for cars. I dont mean to sound like im some moralizing dick, I just think some speed limits arent a bad idea. 1mph is rough though.

people might drive better with camera detectors for the above reason, they are free to look at the road not for cameras. Just a thought.

My car generally *cant* break many speedlimits!

In the uk limits are set at 40mph for daul carriage ways, 30mph for main roads and now 20mph for side roads. What next? Cars will be going so slow they be in danger of causing accidents.

Don't even get me started on speed bumps and humps and traffic calming measures...........

I've got some more ideas on how to improve it, but all my coding prowess is being directed at AIMEE, and when I get round to implementing GPS i shall be implementing these new ideas (and then after that i'll probably release them as stand-alone for MediaCar and FrodoPlayer

I have no problems with speed limits in built up areas, and I can just about tolerate speed humps. What I can't stand is those ******* chicanes popping out from the side that local councils in the UK have started to implement. These are a stupid idea, especially in Britains narrow side streets, taking up hard to find parking spaces. If one were built right outside my house, I'd be pretty ****ed off. Some of the locations of these are ill-thought as I've seen these built barely yards from main road junction. A driver turns into a T-junction, then has to wait as a car may be passing the other way, and in turn so would the driver behind him, spilling congestion onto the main road. ******* ridiculous.
