has it got 3D view?
I have been speaking today with a guy from the company that makes the Navigator software http://www.directions.ltd.uk ,they have just released a new version of their standard software and they tell me that the 'pro' version will be out in about 6-8wks. The pro software will allow importing of waypoints from address books or csv files, and also will have a POI alert system.... UK Camera Database anyone?
....Yes, I know it has a stupid name, those crazy Japanese!
has it got 3D view?
CarPC status: iPod, 3,456,217 songs so **** you
I've not seen it yet, I've been speaking to them because they said they'd give me a good price on an upgrade as i gave them some feedback on the last version. Probably not though as the std version doesn't.
Is 3d all it's cracked up to be? some of the screenshots look as if they would be a bit confusing in the UK where the turnings are so close together..

Sounds a reasonable price though, may have to try it when it's out!![]()
If the 'pro' version is anything like the previous pro version then don't bother. I recently evaluated the pro version on behalf of action replay (Falken) and it wasn't very good
It's not possible to make an application like destinator with it - it won't return the next turn in the programming interface - at least there isn't enough documentation to tell you how to find it anyway.
You can import POIs into it as 'sprites' but to be honest MapPoint or even destinator is a better bet. At least with MapPoint you can control the map view, and you've got the entire MSDN documentation.
On another note I have worked out basic rotation of maps in MapPoint and working on 3D view using DirectX

3D makes a massive difference, mainly because with the 'perspective view' you can see your closest turning in detail yet still see turnings far away.Originally Posted by mp3oplecarrier
