HI,
I've been browsing the forums for a long time and have almost finished my carPC thanks to you guys. Anyway, right now I'm using routis 2004 and have been following the debate about the new iguidance and routis versions. The poi in 2004 plain sucked, and even though 2005 promises improvements, i suspect it will still be severely lacking. So what I was wondering is if anyone new of a yellowpages program. Something that we could run as an external app, find the address of our poi, then plug that back into routis.
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks, but unfortunately I was looking for poi in the US, and that site doesnt seem to have any
Don't know if anyone else is really interested in this issue, but anyway I found a program that can create a csv from yellow page listings. Using teh yellow pages would probably give us a much more complete poi. Anyway, check it out http://www.datadynamica.com/YPSG/.
You're right about the us not been included in that database thats a shame actually we will see what else we can find. also that link you posted catagorises the data in csv which one of the entries is the address, unfortunatly im guessing that this would pretty much be un useful as most gps programs work on lon & Lat data to identify a position and not street names. however it would be useful as a general datbase for poi maybe we can work it in that way around prehaps

I don't know if this helps or not, but here is an article that describes how to make a program that can suck all the POIs out of MapPoint into a database.Originally Posted by Cobelli

So has anyone does anything to get more POI's in Routis 04. Just used it this weekend and I love the program but the POI's do suck.. Also... It was providing some strange directions on how to get to certain places.
