    earthmate problem

    Hi

I just got the yellow earthmate to replace my old "mouse 303" it finds 7-9sats fast, but kind of glitches, half of the time Map Sonic says GPS position not reliable and freazes the frame.

I tried diffrent baud rates, but it only recognises the GPS if the baud is set to 4800bps.

useing a driver to make the USB port come up as com6, maybe the driver that is haunted

anyone got a solution to this problem?

    thanks

did some more testing, reisntalled the latest USB-> serial drivers and got thr test prog running...

the GPS works for 5sec then quits for a half sec then goes for another 5sec...

this makes the test prog exit to the start window, and makes mapsonic loose track

Ditch the driver and build yourself a serial cable for it. Search the forums for instructions on how to do it.

I've been using the earthmate usb with the latest drivers and I've had perfect performance with it on Routis 2004.
just mess with the drivers and you should get everything working fine
