I still have this problem too with SP2... ?
Wasn't Service Pack 2 supposed to fix the issue with the GPS recievers coming out of Hibernation properly? I installed SP2 for this reason alone and have the same issues I have where Routis loses the GPS connection when I resume from hibernation.
Any help?

are you using a usb hub? external power or bus power?
I was having a problem with my usb touchscreen until I got a usb2.0 bus powered hub (it has external power but I dont use it) and SP2.
I have a powered USB 2.0 hub, my touch screen and wi-fi resume fine, its just the GPS receiver.

Whats a GS reciever? Anyway, not sure if this will help but try to disable power saving features in the device manager for all of your USB devices. This might help might not.
I am using a bus powered USB GPS "Mouse" .. I'll check my power-saving settings when I go back to the car... this still sucks though![]()

This was a promising idea and i tried it but since my GPS mouse is detected as a USB to serial COM port in the device manager, there is are no power saving options.Originally Posted by captain_jim1

What about for the USB root hub... try that one, its worth a try, there should be power options for it.Originally Posted by leemik
I'm using the GPSGate beta to solve this problem. Previous versions of the software wouldn't allow the computer to suspend while using it with a usb gps, but the beta version solves this problem. It's not free software, but it's cheap, and it fixed all of my gps issues.

You need to submit your email address for instructions on how to get the beta.
This has solved these problems for me.
-USB Earthmate wouldn't work in routis or iGuidence
-GPS would not work after coming out of suspend or hibernate
-Sometimes GPS software would flake out and crash coming out of suspend
-Fixes would take a long time. (I get a fix almost instantly now coming out of suspend)
-Could only use 1 app at a time with the gps
Basically the software sits between the gps port (or emulated port) and spits out data to any number of virtual ports. It also does some voodoo black magic to keep the data stream flowing correctly to the application. Also, it will continue trying to re-open the port if there is an error of some sort.
Hope this helps.
