For GPS applications software is FAR more important. Granted the GPS unit needs to last.Originally Posted by jeepguy

Ok, I finally won an ebay auction for a gps mouse at a price I was willing to pay.
Here's the tough part, I am now wondering if I should have gotten a low end (under $150) unit instead. I am going to use this in my Jeep and am second guessing my choice. I want to use it for turn by turn directions and for topo mapping when offroad. I am pretty sure I can do this with either depending on the software I use.....but one can be removed for non-vehichle use.
Any input? Did you go with one and decide you want the other? If so, which was it?
I won it cheap enough (fluke from what I've seen) that I could resel it and get my money back easily.Originally Posted by EBFoxbat
But thank you on the software comment. For starters I have mappoint I'm going to mess with. If I don't like it the search for software can start![]()
Then the search for software can startYou'll see.

What one did you get? If you got the USB GPS Mouse from the Hong Kong dude I'll buy it off you for $50.
