    MS Street and Trips 2005..questions

Fry's has it on sale for $25 after rebate. A couple of us here at work were thinking about picking it up but we had a question. Does anyone know if it does GPS? The ad doesn't say...also do you have to be connected to the net to use street and trips? Thanks!

Yeah, I told him that it does GPS (he just didn't listen), some of the SnT05 even come w/ a GPS unit.

Do you have to be connected to the net to do directions? I've had Rand McNalley software and you had to connect to the net to get directions.

Thw web site seems to give the impression that you need to buy the GPS version (which includes the actual GPS) to get GPS support, you may want to check that the $25 version supports a GPS and that they aren't selling two versions.

You don't need the MS GPS unit to use the GPS functionality.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

Nope. I bought one that didn't include GPS. Hooked up my homebrew GPS unit to it. Works like a champ..

It does GPS in MS Street and Trips 2005 and positions in center no problem.
However, everytime you start the program, you have to click to start the GPS function >_<
