Speed Camera Alerts for Destinator 3.1
lo peeps.. I've been looking on over 100 pages of D3 stuff.. taken about an hour and still no wiser..
ok.. what I have done so far
Downloaded redlight and speed cam's poi from
http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/uksafetycameras.php
Now I know they need converting into .dat files for D3. Iv'e tried loads of diff programs, but dont seem to be getting anywhere.
I only want two dat files in the end, one for speed and one for red lights.
Am I right in thinking once I get these in dat format, I can just drop them in the fav's folder and just tick em in the D3 fav's settings ?
I'm sure I aint the only one out there thats having probs.
Thanks
Steve

been there done that, it seems the csv is not in the correct format. I need my hand holding alittle further
Yes, the .csv you get from Pocket GPS isn't in the correct format.
I have put a link at the bottom of my post in the thread Matthew230 linked to with all the UK Speed cameras in a format that you copy/paste directly into the Destinator folder. Can it really be any harder?
Once the site I use fixes their format back to how it was a week ago (they changed it, i complained, they're looking at having both) then you can download/convert them yourself, and to your heart's content.

yeah I downloaded them, and yep they work fine, just there all split up into different dat files, which is no good for making an alert as you can only have two it seems (2 dat files) I maybe wrong unsure until I try, thats why I was after converting the ones from the above link in the first post.
Follow this post...Destinator 3.1 for PC - Right here!...and then use the 'favourites importer' on the Hungarian Console! to save the resulting files as Auto Alert 1 and 2Originally Posted by CdRsKuLL
tried that, unsure how to run the ToDo file.. tryed it as a dos command and as a win32 app, just get an error using that..
I have however edited the CSV file now, and used the destinator .dat converter to make a speed.dat, I have also stuck a bmp with a speed cam on it, and stuck these in the fav's folder.. I have then started up D3 and put a tick next to the new Speed Fav thats appeared, but I was expecting some icons then to appear on the map.. but nothing, must be missing something simple now..
You have to be zoomed to a certain level to see the icons. If they're not in the correct format they won't show either, Basically you should be able to highlight one in favourites and then select destinate or show, if destinate or show are greyed out then you know they're wrong.Originally Posted by CdRsKuLL
ToDe runs under Windows!![]()
when I run the ToDe under windows it comes up with a failed to initalize error, tried it on 3 different comps now, all the same :-( ..
As for the poi not showing I think your right when you say there in the wrong format, The D3 thing must not be doing the converting right :-(
The D3 convert program does what its supposed to, if this ToDe worked I would be there :-)
Works ok here - try this
