I upgraded from routis 2004 to iguidance 2.0 assuming it would do the following this for me that i've seen people talk about on this board
* Mute the music when giving voice directions
*provide easier to understand voice directions
Aside from the maps being a bit more clear. Its doin the same thing routis did. Even with full volume i can barely hear the voice directions. If i turn music off the voice is so choppy that it can barely be understood. Half the time the voice directions mute themselves for no reason. Is there some software i'm missing to allow these things to work right?

I know that when I used MediaCar (Winamp), the volume of the music slightly decreased. Does anyone know if this is possible with Frodoplayer (WMP)?
No i have an authorized version. As much as i buy crap off of ebay i'll never buy software from there.Originally Posted by d_sellers1

VIA 800 mobo 512 SDRam 60 GB, optimized for car use (no unneccessary services), XP SP2. Same symptoms occur whether or not i'm running it stand alone or embedded in frodoplayer. Oh yea i'm running the Pharos usb gps (com 3, 4800 baud) that came with streets and trips 2005, sirf mode. The actual routing works fine and i always have at least 7/9 satelites.
Hi, I've been using Routis2004 and voice directions works fine. One day voice directions raised music volume when it speaks but it was fixed by fiddling around volume setting. It might be your sound setting( wave level vs master level, hardware acceleration not fully engaged). My two cents. Good luck.
Btw, How do you like iguidance 2.0 vs Routis2004? iguidance 2.0 looks much nicer.
I'm not sure if Iguidance actually mutes the music. I think I remember reading that people were adjusting the winamp preamp down and the wave volume up so that the voice could be heard over the music. The Destinator 3 Frontend will actually mute music playback-I'm not sure that Iguidance does. Sounds like the voice directions aren't working like they should-maybe a problem with Iguidance and your soundcard. I'd contact Iguidance to see what they say: http://www.inavcorp.com/ Have they sent you the theme.ini file to tweak colors and font sizes? I've seen some of the changes that other users have made to make the maps a little more readable-definately work looking into when you get the file. Another place to ask where I've seen them respond is over at gpspassion.com in the Iguidance subforum: http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/d....asp?CAT_ID=12Originally Posted by Sonicxtacy02
Good Luck-I hope you get this sorted out.

Why did you assume that it muted the music when giving voice directions?Originally Posted by Sonicxtacy02
The voice direction are pretty easy to understand. Either you have something wrong with your software or your hearing. "Turn Right in 500 feet" followed by a ding that notify's you right before the turn is pretty damn clear to me.

It works for Frodoplayer too.Originally Posted by egeekial
I never tried fooling with the preamp in winamp but the ideal solution would be to lower the music while keeping the voice volume loud. I don't know how this is acomplished.
