Ive done everything thats been said here to do and I still cant get my earthmate USB gps to work. I am using destinator. It works fine in street atlas but when I go to GPS in destinator it saysGPS not found if i search for it and if i put the info in by hand it says com port busy does anyone know of a way to fix this ive done the drivers reinstall about 500 times now and that hasnt worked. Any other advice?
@Gruvthang, yeah man. Works great and I love it. I can now be among the ones that say SA sucks.
I was the one inquiring about the Lexus software (if anybody could get in the files) well, other that the amount of POI's, I found iGuidance similar. It is great. I still would like the Lexus 11 million POI's though.
Thanks for y'alls help.
@masher, it don't work 'cause you're staying up to freakin late
go through Gruvthang's # 4 post...
""""From the Start menu, point to Settings and then click Control Panel.
Double click the System option.
Click the Device Manager tab.
Click the plus sign next to Ports (COM & LPT).
Verify that the DeLorme Earthmate GPS COM device is listed
If the Device is not listed then click the plus sign next to Human Interface Devices.
If the device is listed as a USB Human Interface device, update the driver. """
What are you showing under the "COM & LPT"?
Is it listing as: "DeLorme Earthmate GPS COM"?
yes its listing as DeLorme Earthmate GPS COM so everything is right. And i have installed the 3rd party driver thats why i am clueless on why it wont work. Another ideas.Originally Posted by muldrick

The evolution of how we get the Earthmate USB to work with Routis.
Possible help for USB Earthmate and Routis/IGuidance
Did you ever get the USB hibernation issued sorted out?Originally Posted by MatrixPC

Hibernation work about 90-95% of the time that is when Routis is running and go to hibernation. Just click reconect "reconnect GPS" icon in Routis then it is fine.
If routis is not running or off before going to hibernation, it works 100% of the time. No other software/trick/method is needed.
Well, not exactly "no trick". The trick is that the GPS have to be on it own USB port. Meaning that if I have the USB WiFi plug in the same hub the GPS is, it only work 10% of the time if Routis is running and going to hibernation.
So I have 2 4-ports hub (1.1 and 2.0). 1.1 hub I just use for GPS and mouse/trackball. The 2.0 hub for all other USB stuff.
And my PSU/Sproggy completely cut power when off/hibernate.
Get rid of that 3rd party driver. Why do you need that if you installed the delorme driver?Originally Posted by masher
Then if that don't work, get rid of all drivers, and start over. But only install the delorme driver.
Did you read Matrix's post on the "evolution". Did that help?
