    Zipdash?

I did a search and found nothing, so I thought i'd throw this out there. There's a company called Zipdash which can give you up to the minute, detailed, traffic conditions. Go check out the website. Now there are some drawbacks:

You need to have a GPS-enabled phone
You need to be in one of the cities currently serviced by Zipdash
You need to allow them to track your car

It's kind of like a peer network, everyone telling everyone else how fast their car is moving, a.k.a. how bad traffic is, all compiled into a database that will show trends on different roads and freeway traffic conditions. I heard they are going to expand their coverage to Verizon and a couple of other mobile companies so in the near future, this could be VERY useful in what we are all trying to accomplish.

Do you think this is something to consider implimenting into the car-pc?

Here's my problem with that and other services that track your vehicle (OnStar, Lojack, etc). Let's say you have a lead foot, and generally go about 10 miles over the speed limit. Now let's say that one day you are driving through town below the speed limit and some idiot pulls out in front of you and you t-bone him--totally his fault. His lawyer can subpeona those records and make a claim that you are at fault because you have been a reckless driver on OTHER occasions.

I almost bought an Audi A4 a couple months ago, but then saw that it had OnStar--which killed the deal for me.

its only a matter of time when the "reckless" teens figure out how to hack the cellphones and cover up the stupid bumper sticker. Besides what effect do you think this would have on cell phones which do implement the chip. Teens are going to less likely to buy the phones and sales will drop. General Tommy shouldnt have quit his day job...
