Put a switch on the USB power line maybe?
Or use a cheap USB powered hub and swith that instead.
Hey,
I had a Bu-303 and it interferes with video playback when it is connected to the pc. Is there anyway to effectivly unplug the device without actually removing it when not in use? (if that makes sense).
I'm guessing the unit is still sending info to the PC to process when its not even in use, making video playback jumpy.
Any ideas appreciated..

That shouldn't really happen unless your PC is really low spec..
I think there maybe an IRQ conflict with your video card and USB

Its an Epia 800mhz thingy with 256mb RAM.
I didnt think of an irq conflict, will take a look.
disable in start > control panel > system > hardware > device manager > ports (com &lpt)
pick your port that the gps is on, right clip and choose disable.
I've got the same motherboard, RAM and a BU-303 and mine is fine...definitely something not right
