with routis and others it's usually a "window" that has the gps map in it at least, with copilot there is no seperate window and I (haven't tried much) can't seem to figure out what the name of the full screen app window would be to see if it would work.

i haven't tried much, never really concerned me much to have it integrated, i like it seperate actually...

Of the leaders (iGuidance, CoPilot 8 or Destinator) do any or all of them feature a map that rotates around the direction the car is heading (the arrow pointing in the direction of travel would always be up with the map rotating rather than the arrow)?

I know that iGudiance rotates the map for a fact. I'm pretty sure that the others do too.

Other than 3D-view and voice navigation, do iGuidance and Copilot offer anything else superior to Streets & Trips?

How close of a "cousin" is iGuidance to Routis? I ask because I had an opportunity to take a look at Routis and wasn't very impressed. I'd rather stick with S&T, since it looks like it has more to offer than Routis, (other than 3D and voice) unless I'm missing something..?

iG is very much like routis. But it has a better POI system, with more POIs, and it also has parks on the map.

You can use the NaviVoice config program to change the voices in routis and igudiance

Well I did it and splurged on a copy of copilot Live 8 along with Canada street maps today.

It's shipping UPS ground so I'm expecting it in a couple days. I'm curious to try getting this app to work integrated in Centrafuse. I'm also curious to see how touch screen friendly it is on a small 7" Xenarc display. By the pics of on ALK's website it looks like a good portion of the display is taken up my menus and buttons.

I personally think the voice is the major thing, you don't have to look at screen while driving, the "ding" + the lady talking in I guidance is pretty impressive/effective(its like having someone with you in passenger seat, talking).

I dunno how the voice input(accuracy/response) on co-pilot is, but Iguidance doesn't have one(only voice output).

it is very touchscreen friendly, I can put in an address using the onscreen keyboard quickly. i'll be upgrading to 8 probably this spring.

i haven't had any luck getting it integrated with centrafuse or any of the other front ends yet, but then again I haven't been trying that hard, I don't really mind it being in it's own window.
