Copilot 8 license good for two machines

I was just moving copilot from my labtop to my truck pc and and called tech support to find the deactivation option. They told me that in copilot 8 you can have it on two machines(they said so you can do planning on one and guidance on the other). I have Copilot 7 that I paid retail for and two Copilot 8 that I got for 100 each with USB recivers(holiday special and competitive upgrade deal). So in theory I have enough copilot for 5 machines(but only 3 recievers). Tomorrow I will test it out to see if it works.

I just noticed that you have an SuperDuty Truck. I am thinking of installing a carpc in mine as well, I have a 99 SuperDuty. Do you have any pics of your setup? I just ordered the lilput 7in lcd and I also have the CoPilot gps receiver and software. I bought that several years ago but i did not pugrade to the latest version. I have the serial and ps/2 connections for my GPS receiver. Where did you mount your GPS?

    Thanks,

So if you can have it on two computers I take it two people could buy one copy and "share" it. If so, I would be interested in buying the other license for your CoPilot 8 software. I want a good GPS program like this but I can't afford it since I'm jsut a college student. Wanna sell me your other license and help a CarPCer out!?!

I did manage to install one of the lisences on two computers but was not able to do so with the other for some reason. I think it was the one that I had installed then had trouble deactivating previously, so a call to ALK might clear it up.

I used to keep it inside on the dash, but had trouble with locking sats. This last year I mounted(magnetic) it on thecorner of the hood just in front of the windshield.I cannot put it on the roof because I carry stuff on the ladder racks all the time. This winter I am redoing the truck. The GPS ant. will go on one of two brackets I am making, attached to the racks. The antennas on the driver side are: GPS, cellular, and wifi. On the passenger side: XM, FM(broudcast), and wifi. Aftrer I finnish next month I will try to make a web page and post pictures.

When you purchase the $100 upgrade, is it any way affiliated with the initial version you bought? In other words, if I upgraded to version 9, could I still use version 8 on another machine?

EBJUSTIN, alk does not release upgrades. Each release is a complete product, not associated with your previous product license. I have cp9 and run it on my primary work trucks and cp8 on my other vehicles. I don't even use cp7 any more.

Escalade182, I am currently in Arizona enjoying 60-70 degree weather, riding the sand dunes. I work on the east coast installing automatic pool covers for coverstar inc April to December. I live in the Rising Sun area just off of exit100 on the I95

    I have a related question...

I had a computer with an installed copy of CoPilot that crashed...hard...forcin g me to format the drive and reinstall Windows. Can I still deactivate the license on the crashed (and now erased) product to reactivate a new install?
