while I think ddn's post was a little harsh, it's understandable.

If everyone asked every little question without searching, we'd have many more posts, many of which would be useless, making it even harder for the person who DOES search to find what he/she is looking for.

And that's why searching really, really, really hard first is highly encouraged. Especially if it's such an "easy to find" answer such as this.

My question is, "Is there anything NOT covered by the "search engine"? In other words...What's the point of posting anything if ALL the information is already here...??

(ok, I'll shut up and go read some more now. And, while I may still be a noob, technically, I DO use the search and have a PC in my car to prove it.)

No, you were wasting ours. All you had to do was do a google/froogle search for iGuidance. You'd have found that most places are now selling IG v3, I got mine directly from iNav for $109 + shipping. You may find somewhere seling and old version for a discount.....but YOU have to go & look for it.

If you come here & ask something you could have easily found out for yourself you will get flamed. You will sometimes get a useful answer. Most of the time you'll get both.

If you want IG & a GPS puck I'd recommend: USGlobalsat bundle

I must say this is one of the more... er "harsh" boards out there. The tolerance for newbs is nonexistant and the tolerance for dumb questions is even less. I do agree that it's frustrating to hear the same questions over and over again, I just find it funny that someone could ask a somewhat harmless question, presumably in hopes that people would respond with where they got their copy and how much it cost them, and instead gets hit in the head with a frying pan and kicked in the *** on the way out. Jesus that was a long sentence.
