What you could do is turn down the volme of your mp3 player, and turn up the master volume of the system. This would make the mp3 player is the same volume, but the gps program's volume is increased.Originally Posted by J-Fame
I am wondering if the voice commands that exist in some of the navigation software will still be audible when running other programs.
Specifically - On my home pc when an alert or other sound occurs while I am listening to music/watching a movie, I am still able to hear the alert over the music or movie. Does this happen with the voice command in the navigation software or is the voice only audible when the Navigation screen is visible?
If I am not clear, please let me know and I will try to rephrase my question.
Thanks in advance
J

You'll hear the voice commands as long as the navigation program is running, whether its in the foreground or background.Originally Posted by J-Fame
and if you use a program like mapmonkey it will even pause some frontends while it gives the directions

That's exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks very much jcdillin. Another question has come to mind. Other than iGuidance and Mapmonkey, what GPS software has voice navigation.
Thanks again

Street Atlas has voice guidance and recognition. Most people don't like it for the car, though. The buttons and tabs are too tiny.
