I suppose noone has any idea how to interface either iGuidance nor the Lexus data. (why the obsession with the lexus navi btw? does it have most pois?)
I don't know whats on the cds or haven't even seen any lexus car navigation system but let me say this:
First of all it is very likely that the information about pois is stored as some kind of binary fileformat. Second, that file may also be compressed. I doubt though that it is encrypted in some other way.
So if you don't find another way of getting the pois of the lexus you would have to reverse engineer the file format, which this thread is pretty much about i think (correct me if I'm wrong). If you have ever tried to reverse engineer a file format you know that it's pretty hard task. The way it's usually done is you analyze the program that knows how to handle the file. So most of the work lies in reverse engineering that program.
Now the navigation software is very likely not contained on that disk you have but inside the embedded computer inside the dashboard which, correct me if I'm wrong, noone knows anything about...
I don't want to scatter any dreams here but very likely, unless you hack into that system and retrieve the software chances are you are not gonna be able to understand whats on these disks....

I'll toss in some cash money as well when this is done.

Alright, after some review of IG I am dissatisfied with it to the point were I am not willing to put the time into getting the data (from wherever), decoding the data, then encoding the data back into IG. There are a few reasons for this but mostly it is because of the map, my own street is NOT on the software. Other reasons include slow/unstable interface and lack of options.
However all is not lost in me previous offer, I am still willing to host a site with POI and I may, during my free time even build that program.

Why not try to get data from other places like Google Earth regarding POI's? I know you can import some POI's on upgraded versions of it. Also, I can add some bills if/when necessary

Any updates on the progress of the programmer for hire project? Or this simply cannot be done?
if you wanna give it a try yourself, here is a little tutorial:

It looks like there are two options on the end of importing POI, once is to do it when you install the program and the other is to do it once everything is installed. It might be easier to do it before you install and alter the files on the cd and burn a new CD. If you look on CD1 there is a file called poi.bin, inside this file you can actually see all of the POI names, but the rest of it is all in hex. I just started to look into this today and i will see what i can do.
EDIT, so it looks the same after you install it too, mybad
