Is it worth it? Yes, even if it's just for the POI import and scout features. They really do deliver a lot for very little money.

The best tool I've come across for POI (Including speed cameras) is POIEdit. It allows you to sync your database with the ones maintained on a whole raft of other databases. You can then update your Navigator db with the latest changes.

Hiya Doug long time no speak as you remember it was you I was trying to build the Car PC front end for Navigator for. When it drops back into standard navigation mode, does it still have any car pc friendly buttons? Do you have any screen shots?

doesnt looks like it. thats the sad part. many of these gps programs are very god for this application, but are only made for european users. no US support.

North American (US and Canada, maybe a bit of Mexico) maps will be included in the next version.

Re-routing is indeed available in all version.

The naviagtion mode is the same in the standard interface, but if you click the Stop Navigation button it returns to the CarPC interface.

There will hopefully be a patch this weekend with a few bugfixes (including selecting multiple layers in Scout).

Does anyone have any screen shots of it working integrated into one of the common front ends, such as Centrafuse, Road Runner etc?

Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions. Any idea of a timeframe on the next version?

I bought (an earlier version) of this program.
    It sucks big time.
Search by post code only works for UK.
I live in the netherlands, bummer..
Looking up an address was NOT easy at all, had to uncheck 'look in POIs', 'look in ...', 'look in ...' etc. to reveal the wanted textboxes for street name and city!!
    Worst money spent EVER!!

I hope for you guys wanting to buy this product, that it has been improved.. dramatically!

Post codes areas for Europe have been available in the professional version for a long time. They're now in the Plus edition as well.
Why bother unchecking everything when searching for an address? Of course you could use the search area facility if you wanted to restrict your search a bit more.
A quick tip, if you want to search just streets, click on "restrict categories", click on "select all categories" to deselect everything, click "roads and streets". Three mouse clicks.
In version 4.3 carpc mode just select "roads and streets" and enter the name.
£50 is the worst money spent ever???? For a european wide sat nav system???? Some people have impossibly high standards. You made similar disparaging comments last year. Even then you were talking about a version that had been superceded by v1.3. Since then v4 has been released and now v4.3 Plus. How long are you going to complain about an out-of-date version?
It does have faults and shortcomings which the Plus edition partially addresses. I'm sure the authors will continue to address them. I still don't see anything that approaches it for value for money.
