Which software / gps reciever to go with?

Which software should I use with Road Runner front end and which gps pod should I use?

I have seen alot of different ones on ebay and it seems most go with the 6030.

Then also the gps software since most of the time you get these together I want to try to get this right and not waste money.

I know with aftermarket GPS systems there is a speed control wire for the car do these units need this also ? If not how is it they figure out speed and direction?

A GPS figures out speed & direction based on position.
Pretty much any GPS receiver will work, really.

As far as software, there are several good ones.
MapMonkey is popular, but requires buying an SDK, a POcketPC product and some tweaking.
Routis is also popular. So is iGuidance. CoPilot Live is good, but more expensive than any other package.
MS Streets & Trips sucks for navigation.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

Search on "Best GPS" or "GPS software". Or "National Geographic". The "best" GPS software and receiver question gets asked a lot.
